Description
The 4th annual Rock and Stroll to End Homelessness will be held on October 11th, 2014. We are kicking off the day with a 10K/5K race and a 1K walk/run to benefit 6 nonprofits in Northern Virginia (Alive!, AACH, Community Lodgings, Good Shepherd Housing, New Hope Housing, Wesley Housing). The race starts and ends on Eisenhower Avenue in front of the US Patent and Trademark Office. Join us after for awards and activities at John Carlyle Square. Packet pickup for 10K/5K runners will be held on October 10th from 4-7pm at Port City Brewing. You may also register on-site at this time.
Day-of registration/check-in begins at 7:00 a.m. on October 11th. The race fee will increase to $40.
The 10K race begins at 8:00 a.m, 5K at 9:00 a.m., and 1K fun run at 9:15. The course closes at 10:00 a.m.
An awards ceremony will take place after the race. All runners receive complimentary admission to the Rock & Stroll Festival at John Carlyle Square following the race. Prizes will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female runners in the 10K and 5K events.
Course Information
10K Course
The certified 10K course is flat and fast (just one big hill), good for a new personal record. Out and back on Eisenhower Avenue. Start/finish at Patent and Trademark Office.
5K Course
Starts one hour after 10K; out and back on Eisenhower Avenue. Start/finish at Patent and Trademark Office.
Free parking available in the PTO garage on Saturday. Close to Eisenhower and King Street Metros.
