400 Meter Course - The 400 meter course is for more experienced swimmers. It is ranges from 7-15 feet deep and is about 100 feet from shore.
Athletes are expected to check in 15-20 minutes before their selected swim time. All courses will be cleared on the hour so we can account for all swimmers and to maintain current group size limit restrictions. Once your swim is done, we ask that you leave the swim clinic area.
Spectators & Family Members
The OWS / Clinic entry fee includes a park entry fee of $6 for one person only, additional people are $6 each. This can be paid during the registration process or onsite, park fees are what keep the park open for business. Our staff are not babysitters and we expect any spectators or family members in attendance to help us adhere to social distancing protocols and stay clear of the clinic area.
Food & Other Amenities
Coffee, drinks and ice cream are available for purchase from the ice cream shop located at Pleasants Landing. There are no other food amenities available at Pleasants Landing, so we encourage everyone to bring their own food, snacks and water or plan on getting lunch on your way home.
Social Distancing & Masks
Anyone participating in the OWS, and anyone that comes with them, are expected to abide by social distancing guidelines as mandated by the State of Virginia. This is an outdoor event and the risk of transmission is low, however that does not mean zero risk. If you or a family member have (or recently had) COVID19 or have an elevated temperature, we respectfully ask that you not come.
If you must get within 6' of another person, we will require that you wear a mask. A buff is the perfect solution for this as you can lift it up/down as needed. Plus, you'll like like a cowboy/cowgirl minus the hat, six shooter and horse. Anyone going inside a building is mandated to wear a mask per Virginia law. We know everyone has an opinion on this, and that's OK. However, to participate in this event you need to adhere to our rules so we can continue to operate. We appreciate your assistance as we navigate the choppy waters of the new normal.
