About Team Prince William and Officer Chris Yung
Team Prince William Inc, is a registered 501(c)3 charity. Team Prince William’s mission is to raise continued awareness and remembrance of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty while promoting and presenting a positive image of all law enforcement; and to support and assist the families of the fallen Officers. We also participate in the Law Enforcement United's Road to Hope. We ride 250+ miles over 3 days each year to honor the lives of Law Enforcement Officers killed and to raise money for the Survivors. LEU’s mission is to provide monetary and awareness support for: The Road to Hope Bicycle Ride, Project Active Armor, Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), The Officer Down Memorial Page (O.D.M.P.), and Spirit of Blue Foundation and to assist other charitable organizations that share our common goals.
One of the largest recipients of our donations goes to fund the annual C.O.P.S. Kids Camp held in Camp Lake, Wisconsin.
C.O.P.S. Kids Camp is planned for surviving children (6-14 years of age) of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty to attend with a parent/guardian.
C.O.P.S. Kids Camp provides family interaction, camp activities, grief counseling, relaxation and lots of old-fashioned fun! Campers will have the opportunity to attend age appropriate grief counseling sessions, and participate in activities such as: swimming, fishing, arts and crafts, canoeing, ropes courses, archery, shooting sports, and campfire skits. It is the goal for campers to leave the week with a continuing support system of peers who truly understand and gain a sense of personal growth with hope for the future. https://youtu.be/6tVyCLYZ8nE
Police Officer Chris Yung was killed in a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Nokesville Road and Piper Lane, in Bristow, while responding to the scene of a separate automobile accident. A minivan made a left hand turn from northbound Nokesville Road into a shopping center and crossed in front of the officer's motorcycle, causing a collision. Officer Yung was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
Officer Yung was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had served in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He had served with the Prince William County Police Department for seven years and was assigned to the Traffic Unit. Officer Yung was a member of Law Enforcement United and served as a motor escort officer during the annual Road to Hope ride. He is survived by his wife and three children.
The Chris Yung 5K is our way of ensuring no one forgets about Chris or his children. All proceeds will help to fund the Chris Yung Memorial Fund and to support the annual Road to Hope with Team Prince William LEU.
Thank you for your time and continued support.
