FAQs
Do I need to run to participate in this event?
NO. There are plenty of other great 5Ks out there to test speed and performance. This event is all about doing a healthy activity by yourself or with friends and family, while raising funds for an important cause affecting many families; youth mental health and suicide prevention.
Will there be prizes?
Yes, we have a personalized Color Running Man Trophy for the school team with the most participants that gets passed to the winning school every year. Start a challenge by getting as many of your friends, family and neighbors to join your school team for a chance to win! We will also have prizes for the first person through to the finish line, by age group, as well as fun prizes such as the most/least colorful participant.
What is included with my registration?
If you register by Sept 1st at 5pm, you will be guaranteed a FREE short sleeved T-shirt in the size of your choice with this year's Color Run logo. After that date you will still receive a T shirt but we can't guarantee the size. Packets will also include a single color pack for the signature color toss to kick off the event.
Where is packet pick up?
Saturday, Sept 23rd, 11am-2pm, Potomac River Running, 1601 Village Market Blvd, Ste# 120, Leesburg, VA 20175.
How do I get a group registration savings?
Group registration savings means you can lower the cost of your online registration processing fee if you sign up more than one person in one transaction. Processing fees are charged by cart total, not by registration and includes platform and credit card fees. The higher the total of your transaction, the lower the processing fee p/person becomes:
Up to $249.99 - 6% + $1 fee
$250 - $999.99 - 5% +$1 fee
Over $1,000 - 4% + $1 fee
Donations are charged a straight 4% regardless of amount.
What is the team discount?
All teams will get a 10% discount on their registration fee, once they have a minimum of 10 registrants on the team. Set up either a School team or a Corporate sponsored team in the left hand menu. Who ever sets up the team will be the team captain. The discounted price will apply once you reach 10 or more registrants and those already registered will receive an automatic, age based refund.
What are corporate sponsored teams?
Businesses can sponsor their employees to run at no cost to them by creating a corporate sponsored team. A team captain needs to create the team and follow the instructions to create a code which will allow employees to register at no cost. The company is billed for the total number of registrations once registration closes.
Is The We’re All Human Virtual 5K Color Run a charity event?
YES. This is a fundraiser organized by and benefitting the Ryan Bartel Foundation for their youth suicide awareness and prevention programs. The Ryan Bartel Foundation is a 501.c.3 non-profit organization. Every registration counts and will help towards the goal of raising 20K for our youth suicide prevention programs. You can also help by donating in addition to your registration, organizing fundraisers for your completion of 5K, and getting friends and family to join.
Is the color powder in the packet safe?
The color powder is a colored corn starch and is non-toxic, biodegradable, skin safe and environmentally friendly. We recommend you wear sunglasses or close your eyes to to protect them when showering yourself in powder. We also recommend that people with asthma do not inhale the powder. Throwing color is fun and makes for a great family or social event to celebrate life. Throw it up in the air or at each other and then go RUN or WALK for suicide prevention!
Will the color ruin clothes or running shoes?
We suggest wearing items that you wouldn’t mind getting colorful. We also recommend wearing the branded shirts from your packet and take photos and share them with us! To avoid and/or minimize stains, vigorously shake out all dry excess powder before stepping into a shower, or throwing your clothes in the wash. Once the caked dry colors get wet, it is harder to get out.
