Run With Heart 5K Run/Walk

This February 20, 2027, celebrate American Heart Month by joining the Compress and Shock Foundation for our second annnual Run with Heart 5K, starting at 11am at River's Edge in Roanoke! This walk/race is supported by HCA Virginia and Lewis Gale Medical Center and will honor cardiac arrest survivors and remember victims. The Compress and Shock Foundation is a Roanoke, VA based 501-c-3 non-profit dedicated to providing free CPR and AED education to all with a specific dedication to those communities most likely to suffer an adverse outcome from out of hospital cardiac arrest due to race, ethnicity, language spoken, or lack of healthcare resources. Since 2017, the Compress and Shock Foundation has trained over 22,000 learners and placed over 440 AEDs into communities in need at NO COST to these groups. Please note, as this is a 501(c)3 status organization receiving funds from this event, there are no event refunds if the event must be cancelled and there will be no cancellation date. All registrations will be final. 

NEW THIS YEAR: 'NO FRILLS' REGISTRATIONS

Participants may elect to register as a family of four or five (No Frills Family Signup) for a budget-friendly way to support the life-saving mission of the Compress and Shock foundation. No frills registrations mean participants receive a chip-timed bib ONLY- no event shirt or other swag- but are still eligible for age-group and overall awards. Event shirts may be available for purchase on or after race day.

To access the "no frills" registrations, select the event for which you wish to register (in-person or virtual 5K), add the first registrant, then select "Add Another Registrant" to add up to four additional participants under the first. Next, select "No Frills Family of Four/Five" under Multi-Person Pricing. Your reduced registration fee will populate after the fourth participant has been added to your signup. You can add up to five individuals under one "No Frills" signup transaction. 

With the No Frills option, you can register as parents/children or as teammates, coworkers, church community members, whatever group you would like. The registration details remain the same: you and up to four other individuals receive a reduced registration fee, but those listed in the No Frills signup designation with you do not receive an event shirt or participant finisher medal if applicable.

RACEDAY INFORMATION: 

Participants, spectators, and friends may arrive any time after 9:30am on Saturday, February 20th at 210 Reserve Avenue. Parking is available at the race location, on adjacent streets, or the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine parking garage located at 2 Riverside Circle, Roanoke, VA 24016. This event is RAIN OR SHINE. Registration will be available until 10:30am Saturday 2/20. Event begins at 11am, and the award ceremony will begin at approximately 12pm. If you win an age-group award and you are not present at the ceremony to retrieve it, you may stop by RunAbout Sports Roanoke during business hours the following week to pick-up your award.
