You’ll have from the 9 AM race start until the event wraps up at noon to complete the course - plenty of time to run, jog, walk, or stop for a few “wow, this quarry is awesome” moments along the way!

Absolutely - we love swag! 🎉 All registered participants will receive a special edition Run the Rock race t-shirt. Shirt sizes are selected during registration and can be picked up at the check-in table on race day. Please note: participants must pick up the size selected at registration, as extras and exchanges may be limited.

And of course, what’s a race without a finish line medal? 🏅 Every participant who crosses the finish line will receive a commemorative Run the Rock medal!

Race bibs and swag will be available for pickup on event day only. We recommend arriving early to allow plenty of time for parking, checking in, and grabbing all your race day goodies before the starting line gets busy. 

Yes! On-site registration will be available on race day, unless we hit our registration cap and sell out beforehand. We recommend registering early to guarantee your spot at the starting line!

Parking will be available on-site at the Republic Landfill location (1961 Ashland Road, Rockville, VA), and volunteers will be there to help direct you upon arrival. Be sure to check the race map for exact parking locations, and we recommend arriving a little early to allow time for parking and race day check-in.

Handicapped parking will also be available at 1950 Rockville Industrial Way in the paved parking lot in front of the Training Center.

We love furry friends! Leashed dogs are allowed at the event and on the race course.

Yes! Porta-Johns will be available in the race party and event space area for participants and guests. Please note that there are no restroom facilities located along the race course itself, so plan accordingly before heading to the starting line!

Great question! We highly recommend trail running shoes, as the entire course is made up of gravel terrain. Your road shoes might survive… but your ankles may not thank you. 

Absolutely! Strollers are welcome on the course. Please keep in mind that the race takes place on gravel terrain, which can make running with a stroller a bit challenging in certain areas. Many families find it easier to navigate the course while walking, but you’re welcome to participate in whatever pace feels best for you and your crew!

Yes the more, the merrier! 🎉 Cheer committees are welcome to join us for both the pre-race festivities and the post-race party. With family-friendly activities, food, and fun throughout the event space, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

For safety reasons, only registered race participants are permitted on the race course itself. Family, friends, and spectators are still encouraged to join the fun and cheer runners on from our designated Overlook viewing area!

You bet! 📸 We’ll have photographers stationed throughout the course, at the finish line, and around the race party capturing all the action, excitement, and celebratory moments from the day. Race participants will receive access to event photos free of charge after the race concludes.
