Join Us for Luck Stone's 4th Annual Run the Rock | Rockville 5K!
Get ready to conquer the quarry at one of the most unique race experiences around, just minutes from Richmond’s city center. Since first opening our gates to the running community in 2023, our Run the Rock 5K has grown into an incredible tradition, welcoming hundreds of runners, families, neighbors, and community members to experience our Rockville Plant in a whole new way: on foot.
Now entering its fourth year, this event is more than just a race. It’s an opportunity to connect with our community, showcase the place we call home, and invite others to see the energy and people behind our operation.
From conquering gravel hills and scenic quarry views to celebrating together at the finish line, race day is packed with fun for everyone — including local food vendors, family-friendly games & activities, awesome swag, raffles supporting a great cause, and more.
Whether you’re chasing a personal record, taking on the challenge with friends, or simply coming for the experience, we invite you to lace up, show up, and Conquer the Quarry!

At Luck Stone, community is at the heart of everything we do. This year, we are proud to support the Goochland Sheriff’s Foundation through this year’s race event.
Founded in 2022, the Goochland Sheriff’s Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the community outreach programs and initiatives of the Goochland County Sheriff’s Office. Funded entirely through community donations and support, the Foundation helps strengthen connections across Goochland through educational programs, outreach efforts, events, and resources that directly benefit local residents.
Every donation helps support programs that make a meaningful impact in Goochland County.
How to Donate:
- Donations can be made on our donation page or you can add a donation upon checkout when you sign up for the race.
- During race day, stop by the raffle booth & buy tickets to enter for a chance to win fantastic prizes! Raffle prize winners will be announced after the race. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to our beneficiary.

You’ll have from the 9 AM race start until the event wraps up at noon to complete the course - plenty of time to run, jog, walk, or stop for a few “wow, this quarry is awesome” moments along the way!
Absolutely - we love swag! 🎉 All registered participants will receive a special edition Run the Rock race t-shirt. Shirt sizes are selected during registration and can be picked up at the check-in table on race day. Please note: participants must pick up the size selected at registration, as extras and exchanges may be limited.
And of course, what’s a race without a finish line medal? 🏅 Every participant who crosses the finish line will receive a commemorative Run the Rock medal!
Race bibs and swag will be available for pickup on event day only. We recommend arriving early to allow plenty of time for parking, checking in, and grabbing all your race day goodies before the starting line gets busy.

Parking will be available on-site and our volunteers will help direct you when you arrive. Be sure to check the race map for exact parking locations, and we recommend arriving a little early to allow time for parking and race day check-in!
We love furry friends! Leashed dogs are allowed at the event and on the race course.
Yes! Porta-potties will be available in the race party and event space area for participants and guests. Please note that there are no restroom facilities located along the race course itself, so plan accordingly before heading to the starting line!
Absolutely! Strollers are welcome on the course. Please keep in mind that the race takes place on gravel terrain, which can make running with a stroller a bit challenging in certain areas. Many families find it easier to navigate the course while walking, but you’re welcome to participate in whatever pace feels best for you and your crew!
Yesm the more, the merrier! 🎉 Cheer committees are welcome to join us for both the pre-race festivities and the post-race party. With family-friendly activities, food, and fun throughout the event space, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Please note: for safety reasons, only registered race participants are permitted on the race course itself.
You bet! 📸 We’ll have photographers stationed throughout the course, at the finish line, and around the race party capturing all the action, excitement, and celebratory moments from the day. Race participants will receive access to event photos free of charge after the race concludes.
