Join the Run America 250 Move Challenge: Walk or Run, 250 Miles to Celebrate America's 250th!
Ready to make history—one mile at a time? Lace up your sneakers and get moving in the Run America 250 Move Challenge: a country-wide virtual walk/run event celebrating 250 years of American history!
Between July 4, 2025 and July 5, 2026 we’re challenging you to walk or run 250 miles—anytime, anywhere. Whether you're hitting the trails, the treadmill, or your neighborhood sidewalk, every mile brings us closer to honoring America’s incredible journey since 1776.
Here’s the best part: Complete the FREE challenge and you’ll earn a commemorative Run America 250 medal—a keepsake celebrating your achievement and America’s legacy. Medals can be picked up in person at Widewater State Park, one of Stafford County’s most scenic outdoor destinations.
Medals can be picked up between April 1, 2026 and July 31, 2026 at Widewater State Park.

Tracking Your Mileage
You have the option to track all of your miles with the RaceJoy App! See below for everything you need to know about using RaceJoy.
Miles can also be tracked with your smart watch, smart phone, treadmill, etc. and uploaded HERE. You can upload your miles anytime between July 4, 2025 at 12am through July 5, 2026 at 11:59pm.

Tracking How-To
1) Find Race: Click Featured Races to access the event you are doing.
2) Set up Tracking: Click PhoneTrak and follow the prompts carefully.
3) Carry Your Phone: Participants must carry their claimed device during their run/walk.
4) Click START MY RACE when you begin. This starts your personal start time.
*Note: Do NOT use Wi-Fi on race day. This will cause tracking to disengage.
