Vinton's Pink Warrior Walk

Join us on September 7, 2024, for the inaugural First Breast Cancer Awareness Walk sponsored by the Vinton Moose Lodge #1121 in the Town of Vinton! Every step we take counts in the fight against breast cancer. After the walk, stick around for our lively after-party featuring local businesses, live music by the OddFellows sponsored by Twin Creeks Brewing Co., and a stunning sunset. 🌅

Let's come together to raise awareness, celebrate survivors, and support those still fighting. 💪💖

Event Details:

Road Closures: Begin at 4:00 pm
Walk Start Time: 5:30 pm
Return: To the Farmers Market just after sunset

Participants will receive event T-shirts 👚 in their participant packets, which you'll be notified to pick up. To guarantee your T-shirt, register by August 24, 2024. 💖

Every donation supports the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation, helping to empower Virginians with knowledge and advocacy on their breast cancer journey. Your contributions provide:

📚 Free breast health educational materials
🎁 Packets for the newly diagnosed, caregivers, and survivors

FAQs

Can I run the route?
🏃‍♂️ Of course! You are welcome to run, walk, or ruck the route. We encourage you to do what makes you happy.

Will the event be timed?
⏱️ We will not be timing this event.

Can we bring pets
Of course! We ask that you keep your pet on a leash at all times, bring a water bowl, and pick up after your furry friend!

Can we turn back if we can't walk the entire route?
🔄 Of course! We don't want you to overstrain yourself. There will be a turnaround spot for those who need it. Do what you can at your own pace.

Are kids able to register?
👧👦 Yes! Kids are more than welcome. We will even have a fun, kid-friendly area for them during the after-party.

Where can we park?
🅿️ Parking will be available at the following locations:

• NEW Walnut Avenue parking lot (directly in front of the Farmers Market)
• Town of Vinton Municipal Building Parking lot
• Carilion Family Medicine
• Vinton Public Library
• Vinton Baptist Church
• Thrasher Memorial

ADA Accessibility? The walk is on flat ground the entire way. There will be a stop early in the walk for those who cannot go further. For special accommodations, scroll down and fill out the Questions? form to receive an email or call.

🚫 Please do not park at the Vinton War Memorial as there will be another private event. Also, refrain from parking at the Vinton Post Office, Twin Creeks/Pollard 107 side lot, or Pok-E-Joe's lots.
