Welcome to Race 2 Save Veteran Lives, a program of the National Alliance To End Veteran Suicide (na2evs.org).

Why: 
We are in a Race to Save The Lives of our Service Members and Veterans, with the highest spike in Veteran Suicide as the first 12 months from separation from the military.  With the total statistic of Veteran Suicide at 20 / day, that is one life lost every 72 minutes (and the clock is ticking....).
This specific race is designed as a community launch of our platform, to share with our nation that our Veteran Lives Matter and that we can be one big T.E.A.M!  It is also a collaboration opportunity for all organizations working with our Veterans and their families, providing great resources, services and connections.

Who: 
There is an opportunity here for every American!  We believe that "No one can DO EVERYTHING, BUT EVERYONE can do something".  What is your something?  Consider this as an entrance point for you, your family and your community.
For our Service Members and Veterans that are looking for your next mission, or anyone seeking a mission that is worthy of your life, consider our Volunteer Champions program. 
For race fans, one idea would be for you to create a virtual Race 2 Save Veteran Lives around your favorite sport(s).

What: 
As a Virtual Race you get to choose what sport works best for you.  It could be a walk, run, stroll, a bike ride, a swim, a wheelchair race, a motorcycle rally, etc.  Any activity that you could do to honor the Service Members & Veterans in your family, your community or our nation.   
Please let us know what creative ideas you have to express your Race 2 Save Veteran Lives.

When: 
Any time between the date you Register and midnight on December 31st.

Where: 
Anywhere you like, the choice is yours.  Around a track in your city, your favorite hiking trails in wilderness, in your hospital ward, your favorite running location, on the beach as a family, in the pool with your friends, etc.

Prize Pools:

Your completion of the mile Challenge gives you one entry into the prize pool, at the Level 1, 2 or 3 you entered.
Level 1: One $25 Visa Gift Card + select NA2EVS.org logo items
Level 2: One $50 Visa Gift Card + select NA2EVS.org logo items
Level 3: One $100 Visa Gift Card + select NA2EVS.org logo items + special Race 2 Save Veteran Lives race jersey

Fundraising Goals and Rewards:

We encourage everyone to do a bit of FUNdRaising, where you let our site do the Raising and you share with your friends the FUNd. The easiest way to reach the goals and rewards below is to request this site 'Create Your Fundraiser on Facebook'.
   Goals that trigger rewards: $125, $250, $500, $1000
   Rewards for the above:  50% Reg Fee back, 75% Reg Fee back, 100% Reg Fee back, 100% Reg Fee back + Coupon for Next Race Free Entrance.
Also, the top Fundraising Team + top Individual Fundraiser will receive Special Acknowledgment + NA2EVS.org logo items.

Honorarium or Memorial Gifts:

As one donates they can have it be (In Memorial Of,  In Honor Of) to recognize those we have lost or those we have respect for.
We are working an idea, and hope to create a Memorial Wall and a Wall Of Honor.  Not a promise!  Ideas welcome.

Your Next Steps:

Please share this race widely across your networks. 
Then signup as a Team or Individual, create your Fundraising URL, have this system 'Create Your Fundraiser on Facebook' and then start your first challenge effort.  For those on a Fundraising Team, the donations roll up and total is shown at the Team Level.
