Wausau Nordic Ski Club has several youth programs for high school and middle school athletes.
About Our Teams
Middle School Adventure Team (Grades 4-8)
- Lead coach and main contact: Scott Anderson
- Open to all youth who may have limited or no prior skiing experience
- Promotes team culture and encourages self-development and personal growth while having fun and making new friends
- Open to athletes from Marathon County and beyond
- Non-competitive team, no races required, no out of town travel
- Two practices a week
- Team members must have their own boots
- Skis, poles, and team jacket provided
Middle School Racing Team (Grades 4-8) and High School Racing Team (Grades 9-12)
- HS Lead Coach: Ernie Luedke
- MS Lead Coach: Josh Sturm
- Promotes team culture and encourages self-development and personal growth while having fun and making new friends. For more details, visit the Wisconsin Nordic Ski League website.
- Open to athletes from Marathon County and beyond
- Skis, poles, bindings, team jacket, and racing gear provided
- Week night practices and most meets are on weekends
- League race events during ski season are hosted at various locations across Wisconsin. Additional competitions are available.
- Ski season is late November - early March. Early season may require occasional travel to snow.
- Frequent weekend commitments from December - March
- Registration fees include entry fees for all team Wisconsin Nordic Ski League races as well as State sprints and distance competitions
- Houghton, MI Ski Camp on Dec 27-29, 2024 (optional)
