Our virtual 5K last year was fun on so many levels PLUS we raised essential funding for Bluestone at the same time. In fact, the pandemic lightened enough this summer to allow us to have a limited family camp. What a breath of fresh air for everyone who participated!
We're having our virtual event again this year to help raise money to support Bluestone and bring the larger community together, virtually yet united in purpose. We hope you will join us again this year as part of the entire Bluestone community. For us, this event brings a bit of Bluestone to you, no matter where in the world you are.
Because this is a virtual event, you can participate from wherever you are, so grab your water bottle, slap this year's commemorative Bluestone stickers on it (they're awesome!), invite a couple of friends to join you, and run or walk (or bike or hike) the 5k together, then share some photos with us! Oh, did you know that the average 5K is between 6500-7500 steps, depending on leg length and height, so if you count steps, you know that's not so hard to accumulate.
Hey, and get this: for 2021, we're adding two additional FUN sidelight events to our race. Plan your regular 5K for the actual race days -- November 20-21 (the weekend before Thanksgiving) OR get family and/or friends together to either "Walk It Off" on Thanksgiving Day (November 25) or "Walk and Shop Til You Drop" on Black Friday (November 26). Both add a fun, unique twist to this year's 5K.
(By the way, if you walk anytime between November 20 and November 26, we're good with it. And word on the street is there are special door prizes specifically for Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday participants!)
The event kicks off at 9 am on Saturday, November 20th, but to make it as easy and flexible as possible, we'll accept submissions until midnight of Friday, November 26th.
After all, our event is focused more on fundraising and bringing the community together, so there won't be any prizes for fastest completion times (but there WILL BE some door prizes randomly pulled among participants who complete the race and share some photos with us).
You know what? We're convinced you'll get pleasure in knowing you've helped a worthy cause - Bluestone - continue its mission to youth and adults! What's not to love about that?
Fundraising Goal
Friends of Bluestone is committed to raising $45,000 annually toward the maintenance and upkeep of Bluestone. To meet our annual goal this year, we have the ambitious goal to raise $15,000 through this event! This goal corresponds to $5,000 in each of the three categories: registrations, event sponsorships, and individual donations/fundraisers.

Event Sponsorship
Interested in becoming an event sponsor? We have several levels of sponsorship for businesses to give you the right opportunity to support Bluestone and promote your business at a price that works for you.
- Guardian ($500): Your company name and logo will be included in a large-size block in Bluestone's annual digital photobook of the 2021 Bluestone Camp Season which all campers and their families receive + All of the Builder sponsorship listed below.
- Builder ($250): Your company will receive the following: social media recognition and promotion (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) before, during and after the event + Customized message featured in advertising emails to all walkers and donors + Name, logo, and customized message displayed on the event website + A set of artist-designed vinyl stickers suitable for window display + Certificate of Appreciation for wall display.
Not a business? Not a problem. You can still donate using the business levels (above) or these individual levels (below), whichever suits your budget! Your gifts sustain Bluestone Camp and Retreat Center by supplying crucial funding for operations, maintenance, and upkeep.
