Wild Strides 5K presented by Triangle offers a scenic and memorable course you won’t find anywhere else in West Michigan.
5K Course Overview
The 5K begins near John Ball Zoo and quickly connects to the beautiful Kent Trail, offering a flat and fast section perfect for runners and walkers alike. From there, participants return toward the Zoo for a truly unforgettable finish.
The final stretch takes you inside the Zoo, running past the stunning Grand Rapids Lantern Festival displays before crossing the finish line surrounded by cheering spectators.
Important Course Notes:
- The course includes paved trail and paved Zoo pathways
- Strollers are permitted in the 5K Run/Walk
- Please follow all course marshal instructions
- The event takes place rain or shine
Wolverine Worldwide Kids Half Mile Overview
The Wolverine Worldwide Youth Half-Mile takes place entirely inside John Ball Zoo, offering a safe, exciting, and spectator-friendly course designed just for young runners.
The route follows paved Zoo pathways and features gentle turns and wide walkways, making it approachable for first-time runners while still feeling like a “real race.” Families and friends can line the course and cheer as kids make their way to the finish line celebration.
