How do I sign up?
Women: Click on Women's JCN5K on the main race site or click here.
 
Men: Click on Men's JCN5K on the main race site or click here.
 
Once you register, you will be able create and manage your own personal page, share your photos, set goals, join a team, and get sponsors.
 
What does it cost to register?
Women: Early Bird Registration is $54.00 - Register online by May 21st, before 11:59 PM. That's $21.00 in savings!!
             Event registration is $75.00 - Any registrations after May 22nd, at 12:00 AM.
 
Men: Early Bird Registration is $54.00 - Register online by May 28th, before 11:59 PM. That's $21.00 in savings!!
        Event registration is $75.00 - Any registrations after May 29th, at 12:00 AM.
 
What’s included in my registration?
All registered participants receive the following:
    • JCN5K Bag
    • JCN5K Water Bottle
    • Race Number Bib & Timing Chip
When do I get my bib number and race shirt?
Race gear and materials will be available at packet pickup or on race day.
 
Women Reminder: You will only receive a race shirt if you raise a minimum of $180.00 by May 21, 2023. Donations must appear on your fundraising page to qualify.  
 
Men Reminder: You will only receive a race shirt if you raise a minimum of $180.00 by May 28, 2023. Donations must appear on your fundraising page to qualify.  
 
What does registering for the race mean?
By committing to this race and raising money for its success, you are helping Jewish Caring Network raise invaluable funds to enhance the quality of life for children, teens, and adults diagnosed with a life-threatening, lifelong, or serious illness.
 
We wish you all the success possible! Train, set and achieve new goals, enjoy the race, and get all the sponsors you can! When you cross that finish line, we will all be winners – you, the Jewish Caring Network, and all the people in our community that need your help!
 
Is there a refund policy?
        Thank you, in advance for your support and understanding. There are absolutely no refunds or transfers for event fees and donations. Please know that the funds you raise for the JCN5K will forever change the lives of families facing a difficult medical journey.
 
What is the difference between signing up as a team or an individual?
        Signing up as a team is just a great way to have fun with friends while supporting a great cause TOGETHER!
 
What happens if the weather is bad?
        This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances.

 

Fundraising

 
Do I have to raise money in addition to my registration? 
Additional donations are not required; however, this is our annual fundraiser and additional donations will allow us help families diagnosed with a life-threatening, lifelong, or serious illness. Please help us help them.
 
Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising goal? 
No. Registration fees cover the race day expenses and course admissions.

Packet Pickup

 
Can I pick up my race packet before race day?
Yes! We highly recommend you pick up your race packet on packet pickup day to avoid waiting in line on Sunday
 
When and where is packet pickup?
Packet Pickup is Thursday night before race day at the Park Heights JCC. If you cannot make it to packet pickup, you can pick up your race gear and materials on race day.
 
 

Race Information

 
How long is a 5K? How long should it take me?
A 5K is approximately 3.1 miles. It could take you anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on if you are walking or running.
 
Is the JCN5K only for runners?
No! You can run, walk, stroll, or skip! The Run is designed as a day of fun and fitness for supporters, ages 7+. We look forward to a fun and exciting community event.
 
I have never run in a race before. Will I be able to complete the race?
Absolutely! It might take a little training and coaching, but many of our participants are first-timer runners/walkers. Whether you are a novice or a serious athlete, we will be there to inspire you every step of the way.
 
Is there a time limit to complete the JCN5K?
The finish line will close 1.5 hours after the start of the race.

Can I bring a stroller?
Yes. Single strollers are the only type of stroller allowed. For the safety of all participants, you must start the race behind the runners and move to the right to allow for passage of other participants along the course. Please be careful not to run into other participants with your stroller.
 
Are roller blades and/or bicycles allowed on the course?
No. For the safety of all participants, roller blades and bicycles are not allowed on the race course.
 
Can I bring my pet to the race?
Sorry, there are no pets allowed.
 
Is parking available?
Free parking is available.
 
How will my time be recorded?
In order for your time to be recorded and to receive your official results, you must wear your racing bib on your shirt and timing chip on your shoe. 

 

Award Ceremony

  • Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place top fundraisers and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place top team captains.
  • Medals will be rewarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best overall times for all participants and for the following age groups: 7-10; 11-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; and 60-69; 70+.
