About Jesse
Jianxiang Liu, Jesse Liu, resident of Short Hills, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024, at the age of 53, with his family by his side, after a year-long battle with cancer.
刘建翔，Jesse Liu, 居住于新州蜜镇萧山，经过一年与癌症的顽强抗争，于2024年4月6日在家人的陪伴下，安祥地离开了我们。享年53岁。
Jianxiang Liu was born in Guangzhou in 1970. He attended Guangzhou No. 6 High School and earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Sun Yat-sen University. In 1992, he went to the United States for further studies, obtaining his first master's degree in mathematics from the University of Georgia, followed by a master's degree in computer science from Yale University. After graduation, he worked for a financial company in New York.
刘建翔于1970年出生于广州，曾就读于广州六中，在中山大学获得数学学士学位，1992年赴美留学，于佐治亚大学数学系获得第一个硕士学位，后又于耶鲁大学取得计算机科学硕士学位。毕业后，就职于纽约金融公司。
Jianxiang met his wife, Qingmei Bu, at Sun Yat-sen University, where they formed a deep bond and shared their youthful days together. In 1992, they embarked on their journey to study abroad in the United States. They married in 1996. In 2000, they moved from New York to Livingston, New Jersey, and relocated to Millburn in 2010. They raised three lovely daughters who were his pride and joy, and the light of his life.
刘建翔和夫人卜庆梅的缘分始于中山大学校园，他们在那里相识相知，共同度过了青春时光。1992年，他们携手踏上了赴美留学的征程。1996年他们步入了婚姻的殿堂。2000年，他们从纽约搬迁到新泽西李文斯顿，于2010年搬迁到蜜尔本。他们养育了三个可爱的女儿。女儿是他的骄傲，他的生命之光。
Jianxiang was actively involved in improving school education quality. In 2015, he served a three-year term on the Millburn Board of Education. During his tenure, he successfully established the Chinese Lunar New Year as a public holiday in the school district and founded the Millburn Chinese School.
建翔积极关注学校教育质量，2015年他担任蜜尔本教育委员会委员，任期三年。在任期间，他成功地将中国农历新年列为学区公共假日，并创办了蜜镇中文学校。
Jianxiang was a key figure in the Chinese communities of Livingston and Millburn. He served as the chairman of Livingston Huaxia Chinese School, a coach at Huaxia Summer Camp, and a long-distance running champion. He was the first Chinese immigrant member and vice-chairman of the Millburn Board of Education, as well as a co-founder and founding board member of Millburn Huaxia Chinese School.
建翔是李文斯顿和密尔本华人社区的骨干，他曾经担任李文斯顿华夏中文学校的董事长，华夏夏令营教练，长跑冠军；他是蜜尔本第一位华一代学委、副主席，密尔本华夏创始人之一、建校董事.
Jianxiang loved outdoor activities, especially long-distance running. He participated in over 20 marathon races. He founded the Millburn Running Club, which evolved into the "East-West Running Group" with over 300 members. Jianxiang and his family loved traveling and visited many national parks, creating many precious and beautiful memories.
建翔酷爱户外运动，尤其钟爱长跑。他参加过20多次马拉松比赛。他创办了萧山跑步俱乐部，发展成“东奔西跑”群，成员超过300位。健翔和家人热爱旅游，到访过许多的国家公园，留下了许多珍贵美好的记忆！
