Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Where do I pick up race materials? Shirts, bibs and other items can be picked up the day before the race (Wednesday) from 12 – 4 p.m. at Thiensville Village Park and the day of the race (Thursday) from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.
  2. Do I need to register my young child? All adults and any children who would like a chipped bib and to be considered for a medal need to be registered. Shirts and bibs are only available for registered participants.
  3. Can I bring a stroller? The Turkey Trot is a family-friendly event but we do have some very competitive runners. If you’d like to bring a stroller, you must start the race near the back and behind the “WALKERS START HERE” banner.
  4. Can I bring my dog? Safety is a top priority at the Turkey Trot. If you must bring your dog, a non-retractable, 6’ leash is required. Participants with dogs must start the race near the back and behind the “WALKERS START HERE” banner. Please be a responsible dog owner during the race.
  5. What is the course route? The course route can be found on our website here.
  6. Is there water on the course? Yes, there is one water table approximately halfway through the course.
  7. Is there somewhere to leave personal items? No. Items should be left in vehicles or kept on your person during the race. The Junior Woman’s Club of Mequon-Thiensville is not responsible for items left unattended.
  8. Can my child bring a scooter/bike to keep up? Safety is a top priority at the Turkey Trot and we prohibit the use of scooters and bikes during the race.
  9. Can I register on the day of the run/walk? Yes. Registration is available on the day of the race from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in Thiensville Village Park. If you register after 8:30 a.m., a chip-timed race is not guaranteed.
  10. Do I need to register my child for the Gobble Gallup? No, registration is not required . The Gobble Gallup is a 50 meter dash that takes place in Village Park for kids 10 and under. It usually begins around 10 am, but announcements will be made at the Finish Line with more information.
  11. Where should I park? Public parking lots in Thiensville can be found on Main Street near Molyneux Park and Reuter Insurance and on Buntrock Avenue near the Interurban Trail. Street parking is also available on most village streets including Green Bay Avenue.
  12. Can I get a refund? Sorry, refunds are not available.
