SOAR for Toys 2-mile Run/Walk

Local running club #StoryOfARunner Group (SOAR)* is hosting a fun run/walk event presented by KanPak Kansas for all ages at 10am Saturday, November 10. Our goal for this event is to collect toys to donate to local families in need, while creating more opportunities for running hobbyists in the Cowley County area. Working with our beneficiary, the local GSF Foundation** committee of KanPak Kansas, toys will be distributed during the 2018 holiday season. Our 2-mile run/walk event still start and finish at Veteran’s Memorial Lake in Arkansas City. This event is not timed. Race is free for children under the age of 2.

CHOOSE HOW TO HELP KIDS IN NEED

#1: TOY OPTION
Have fun shopping for little ones. By selecting this option, you commit to donating at least one new, unwrapped toy valued $10 or more. 

• $20 registration (13 & up); $15 registration (12 & under)
• If you choose this option and don't bring a toy to donate, you'll be expected to pay an additional $10 before receiving your participant packet.

#2: DONATION OPTION
Skip the store. By selecting this option, your registration includes a $10 donation to the local GSF Foundation committee of KanPak Kansas. SOAR will make a donation on your behalf, and GSF will purchase a toy for you! 

• $30 registration (13 & up); $20 registration (12 & under)

Online registration ends on Friday, November 9, 2018 at NOON. Race day registration is available beginning at 9am at the race location. 

RACE SWAG

With registration, participants will receive a SOAR for Toys long-sleeve shirt featuring the adorable event logo and sponsors’ logos on the back. The first 100 to register will also receive a finisher's gift! 

To be guaranteed a shirt on race day, please register by 11:59pm on Monday, October 29, 2018. SOAR will place a second order of shirts for those who register October 30 through race day. Details on pickup for this special order will be provided at packet pick-up. 

PACKET PICK-UP

Pick up your packets at Veteran's Memorial Lake beginning at 9am on race day. If you select to donate a toy, please bring your item with you to packet pick-up. 

PARKING

Parking is available at Veteran's Memorial Lake. 

SUPPORTING YOUR LOCAL RUNNING COMMUNITY

SOAR has partnered with Legacy Regional Community Foundation as our 501(c)3 entity. Sponsorship dollars will be held in a fund to help SOAR host future races for our community. In addition to the toys collected, a donation will be made to GSF Foundation.
