Presents for Preemies was founded by of one of our physical therapists at Advanced Physical Therapy, Cori Hall. Cori and her husband, Ford, learned that they were pregnant with twins in December 2014. Cori's pregnancy progressed normally, until she went into labor at 25 wks. Ford Russell Hall IV and Finley Reid Hall were born at 26 weeks. Finley weighed 1 lb., 13 oz. and survived for three days. Ford “Smash” spent 3 months in the NICU before coming home. He is doing VERY well since leaving St. John’s NICU! As his family celebrates Smash and his progress, they remember his sweet twin sister, Finley. This year they were excited to begin the process of starting a nonprofit organization called “Presents for Preemies” in her memory. Its focus will be to support infants in the NICU and their families. They pray that through their actions, Smash will learn about his sister and will be inspired to embrace others in similar situations with love and support. Smash and his family have taken 70 “Birthday Baskets” to babies at St. John’s NICU in August and to Wesley NICU in Wichita in November on 'World Preemie Day' to celebrate Ford and Finley’s birthday in May. They also took 35 Christmas stockings during to St. John's NICU to try to spread joy to the families who are staying in the NICU-- all from funds raised from Run IV Finley 2018.Last year's run raised approximately $2,400 to go completely to the Presents for Preemies fund to help over 100 families dealing with the same hurts, emotions, and struggles that they dealt with 3 years ago. Their goal this year is to increase funding so they can take this amazing charity to other hospitals in need of support for local families of preemies, just like theirs.Your support is greatly appreciated. Again, all the profits will directly be put into the fund that keeps Presents for Preemies helping other local families and infants. Thank you for your participation in helping this organization to achieve their goal.
