Our goal is to continue the legacy Danny created through his heroic acts. He was born and lived in the Jackson county area most of his life. He left for basic training from Oskaloosa, KS and earned the rank of Specialist Four in Company B, 4th Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division of the United States Army. He was just 20 years old when he was mortally wounded in the Republic of Vietnam. Danny was awarded the military’s highest honor, the Medal of Honor, for his heroic efforts in combat. The Medal of Honor was recently donated to the 4th Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment Headquarters at the Fort Lewis-McChord Base in Washington where it resides today. Please help us honor Danny and all who serve by participating in this event.
