Thanks for signing up for the Cookie Run 5K on Saturday! We are excited to see so many people at this fourth annual event benefiting the Girl Scouts! We are also excited to be holding the event again this year at Bluhawk in Overland Park! Bluhawk is a new commercial and residential area at 159th and Antioch, just off of US-69 south, just minutes south of I-435. This area works out great for this year's event and we appreciate the hospitality shown to us by the developer, Price Brothers, and the retail tenants.
The host for our packet pickup, Advent Health South at 7820 W 165th St in Bluhawk, is also a big part of our move to Bluhawk and we appreciate them hosting us in their new Emergency Services building from 2-6pm on Friday afternoon. You can also pick up your packet on race morning near the start/finish beginning at 7am. You will be able to pick up your Girl Scout cookies, if you ordered some when you registered, at packet pickup. You will be able to exchange your shirt for a different size out of the leftover shirts in the packet pickup area after the race.
Race day parking will be in the main parking lot for the shopping center near the start/finish on Lowell Street, on the east side of the shopping center. The packet pickup and pre- and post-race area will be on the east end of the shopping center near TJ Maxx.
The 5K will start at 8am and follow a course that you can find HERE.
The Kids Run will be after the 5K at approximately 9:15am. Please do not bring your dog to participate in the race. We like dogs but our insurer doesn't like the tripping hazard created by their leashes. You can run with strollers but we would ask you to start towards the back to reduce congestion. It looks like it is going to be a nice day, but if the weather changes and it is determined that it is not safe to run, there will be no refunds or transfers.
You can check your results after the race at the results tent or on your phone if you activated text results when you signed up. You can also hold the camera on your smart phone over the QR code on your bib number to get your results! Don't forget to check to see if you won an age group award while you are at the event as the awards will not be mailed out after the race. A link to race photos will be emailed out after the race.
There will be some post-race snacks at the start/finish area. You will need to show them your bib number for them to include your meal in the donation calculation.
Thanks again for signing up and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
Sign your kids up for the Kids Run after the 5K! Kids run participants receive a participant shirt and finishers medal and run in waves, based on their age, ranging from approximately 50-200 yards.
