Welcome to the symplr 8,000 steps challenge.
Why a 8,000-step goal? Here’s why: It adds up to about four miles each day for most people, which includes about 30 minutes of daily exercise. The health benefits? “Researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health found that 30 minutes of walking each day cut stroke risk by a minimum of 20%.” The Centers for Disease Control recommends 150 minutes of exercise per week, which equates to about 30 minutes per day.
Don’t have a smartwatch or pedometer? Don’t let that stop you. You don’t need a smartwatch, fitness band, or pedometer to track your steps. Your phone can track how many steps you take and how far you walk all by itself, assuming you just carry it with you in your pocket.

Google Fit on Android Phones
To get started, Install Google Fit from Google Play if it’s not already installed. Then launch the “Fit” app on your Android phone.
For every day you walk 8,000+ steps, you earn one entry into our raffle drawing for a chance to win the new FitbitVersa or Apple Watch. Just upload your info in this system each day you reach 8,000 steps and upload a screenshot picture on the website showing you completed this task. We will also give out prizes for the most steps walked in a single day as well as to the person who reaches the 8,000 the most days throughout the month.
