STUDENT 5K Walk
Description
Lace up your sneakers and join us for the fourth annual, Grace Iz Forever 5K dog walk community event! Our walk will begin at Shelter 1 of Shawnee Mission Park, head to the park dam, and return to Shelter 2 via Small Lakes Road. Commencement will kick off the dog walk at 9:00. 5K walkers will lead the pack and those individuals with strollers and/or prefer to walk a shorter distance will follow.
Registration for this event will include a T-shirt for the human and a frisbee for your furry friend. T-shirts will ONLY be available for those that register ON or BEFORE April 9th, 2025. Don't have a furry friend? No worries, come join in the fun and community!
Exciting Post Walk Activities & Treats
Once finished with the walk you can enjoy refreshing lemonade for purchase from The Good Lemon Company and savor delicious breakfast burritos from Sombrero's, sure to satisfy your morning cravings! NEW THIS YEAR, bring your pup in a COSTUME for a chance to enter our special raffle and win a fantastic dog gift basket filled with goodies for your furry friend. It's a perfect way to start your day with a beautiful walk with Izzy, great food and drink, and some four-legged fun!
"THE MISSION" Of Grace IZ Forever
Isabelle Grace Ford is known for her fiery, persistent, loving, kind and compassionate personality. As her legacy foundation, Grace Iz Forever's mission is to inspire community fundraising to various organizations and populations Izzy felt passionate about. Izzy's faith stirred within her a heart for helping others, and as her family, we have a desire and commitment to share this gift with others. Through your generous contributions to Grace Iz Forever, we will grow her foundation from a small mustard seed and sprinkle her love and kindness in our community for years to come. Although Izzy left this world way too early, our hope is she will never be forgotten and her foundation will awaken Grace.
Spreading Izzy's Kindness Through Your Generosity
Grace Iz Forever hosted our first annual 5K dog walk in 2022, where we had 600 registrants and raised funds not only for our foundation, but we gifted $5,000 to Imagine Furever Ranch. In 2023, were able to gift $5,000 to Melissa’s Second Chances. In 2024, we raised $12,000 to distribute across three amazing, local, non profit organizations we feel Izzy is passionate about, Always and Furever, The Lantz Tucker Memorial Fund and Adventures with Moxie.
This year, we are aligning Izzy's spirit and heart with the organization, Great Plains Adaptive Riding Academy, which provides children and young adults with unique abilities the opportunity to develop horsemanship skills that not only improves muscle tone, coordination and balance, but also promote confidence and independence. https://greatplainsara.org/
