Event Description
Join Fleet Feet this Thanksgiving morning, November 26th, for the 2nd Annual Topeka Turkey Trot! Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Topeka Turkey Trot returns as a community-focused tradition to kick off the holiday. We had a tremendous first year and we are excited to build off that momentum!
Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome, whether you’re aiming for a personal best, enjoying a relaxed walk with friends and family, or simply taking part in the festive atmosphere. From experienced runners to those trotting for the pie, this event celebrates movement, gratitude, and togetherness before the Thanksgiving meal.
Start your Thanksgiving with purpose, connection, and a little fun — and join us for another memorable morning in Topeka.
We have a new and exciting race location this year; Forbes Field! We are very excited to be partnering with the Combat Air Museum this Thanksgiving season. We will still have our kids 1K race, a 5K and 10K option! This is a USATF certified course, entirely flat, paved, and follows the wide asphalt airport taxiways and access roads surrounding Forbes Field. This makes it highly accessible for both high-speed runners and walkers.

Topeka Rescue Mission
The Topeka Turkey Trot is proud to partner with the Topeka Rescue Mission again for this year’s race. Together, we’re helping raise funds through monetary donations, as well as collecting non-perishable food items at the Fleet Feet Topeka store. Your support can make a meaningful difference in our community this holiday season!
About Topeka Rescue Mission
Since 1953, TRM has been a beacon of hope in the Topeka and NE Kansas communities to those experiencing homelessness, hunger, poverty and many forms of trauma. In 70 years of service TRM has grown from a small facility with basic services and just a few beds, to a multi-facility organization that provides shelter, food services, housing opportunities, human trafficking and trauma interventions, rehabilitation, and education for thousands of people in need every year. Additionally TRM works closely with other community organizations to bring food, clean clothing and showers to unsheltered individuals in the Topeka area.

We also will be having a food drive starting in now to the day of the race. Food drive donations are critical for Topeka Rescue Mission during the holiday season, as the organization faces a massive surge in demand to feed thousands of unhoused individuals and local families in need. Bring your non perishable food items into Fleet Feet Topeka before the run or during the packet pick up. We will also be collecting donations on race day!
