The Tacky Tourist Trot

Fleet Feet Wichita Presents The Tacky Tourist Virtual Running Event. This event is designed for everyone stuck at home right now to have a little bit of fun and encourage each other to stay active. Many of you have had races, trips and other events you were eagerly awaiting cancelled. It's easy to get down and feel isolated, so we have designed this virtual event specifically to engage the community & have fun.  Running is NOT cancelled and we want to encourage each of you to keep getting out there and moving! Since you can't travel for any run-cations just yet we've designed an event that is vacation themed as a fun way to lighten the situation we are all in. Who couldn't use a few extra laughs and a goal to work towards?

Let's work towards your next distance personal best, best time, or give you another reason to keep up your running/walking routine.

This event is a pick your own distance race 5K,10K, Half, or Full Marathon. This event will include SWEET SWAG! 

• Each registration will include:
  An exclusive invitation to a pre-race virtual EXPO where you can pick up any of your nutrition, socks, hydration, or apparel for your runs at a discounted rate.
• A Tropical Printed Fleet Feet Wichita Race shirt
• A "Tacky Tourist Trot" Bib
• A "Tacky Tourist Trot" Koozie
• & A chance to win prizes by completing one of the event challenges. 
  Event Challenges:
  Challenge participants must post their "documentation" whether it's a race map, photo etc. to show they have completed one of the following challenges. Please post these on Facebook & tag Fleet Feet Wichita so we can review them and select winners once the event is concluded. One winner in each category will be selected and receive a small prize. 

The Zoo Keeper - take a photo with as many animals in one frame as you can
The FULL BLOWN tacky tourist - snap a photo during your run/walk wearing the most outrageous "tacky tourist outfit" (examples: floppy hat, Hawaiian shirt the more silly the better)
The Garmin/Strava Guru - most impressive run/walk rout map (examples: Flamingo, Pom Tree, Boat, Flip Flops)
Dizzy Donuts - log yourself doing as many small loops as you can during the event 
Awkward Family photo - Because no "vacation" is complete without at least one of these. Bring your family along for the event & get a shot as awkward as your middle school yearbook photo. 
Registration starts April 24th and ends May 3rd. The Tacky Tourist Trot will take place May 16th & 17th. Shirts, Bibs & Koozies will be available for curbside pickup May 15th as well as all goods from the exclusive virtual expo.
