NEW ITEM: Pre-run Dinner at Mr. B's Pizza and Wings Friday, April 13th from 7-9PM. Mr. B's is donating $200 directly to the Hughes Family. Please join us for a slice of pizza and/or a beer so we can "Thank You" in person for sharing your miles for Molly!
Sweet little Molly Lynn entered this world on July 8 of this year to a wonderful family who had anxiously been awaiting her arrival. Parents, Robbie and Chelsea Hughes, and big brother, Jamison (Age 3), were thrilled to add a new member to their family. Little did they know that a few short months later, their perfect family of four would receive devastating news that would forever change their lives.
On November 24, Molly got sent to the ER after having a swollen and hard tummy. Her parents stayed hopeful that it was just something minor. Doctors suspected a bowel blockage and recommended a cat scan to diagnose the issue. Results of the scan were much worse than anyone anticipated. Molly has a large tumor on her kidney and liver and has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Doctors are currently working on a treatment plan for sweet Molly in hopes that she can overcome this prognosis.
Molly is surrounded by lots of loving friends and family during this long journey. She will be receiving treatment in Nashville, as this is where she can receive the best medical care for her condition. Parents, Robbie and Chelsea, will be spending their days and nights by Molly’s side during this battle. They need donations to go towards travel money, insurance deductibles, food, medical bills, and loss of income. Any amount that you can give would be a big help for this young family.
Molly’s family knows that God is bigger than all of this. They are hopeful and have remained incredibly strong in their faith as the doctors have conveyed that their worst nightmare is their new reality.
The Joules Athletics proudly presents the "Miles for Molly" run on April 14, 2018. This is a fundraising event for Molly's family. 100% of each runner's registration will go to Molly's family, they will be using the donations for travel expenses, medical expenses, and anything else they need to get through this nightmare. The post-race snacks sponsored by Caroline Currier will include water, bananas, chips and Stinger waffles. Joules Athletics will be covering all expenses for the Administration and set up of the Run. Nat's Outdoor Sports provided the race (run) bibs.
The Miles For Molly Run/Walk is a RAIN or SHINE event. If there is a lightening sighting everyone will be pulled from the course until 30 minutes have passed from last strike before resuming run/walk. There is no rain check date!
The purpose of this run is to fundraise and fill the hearts of this precious baby girl's Village. And that is exactly what we will do - together. Because we will be #mollystrong, and strong for all of those who are fighting this terrible disease. Together, we will.
