Description
The Hillside Hustle is a 5k, 10k, and trail Half Marathon with proceeds benefiting The American Red Cross-Fort Knox Chapter, Santa's Workshop and hosted by Flex Appeal, Bernheim Forest, and Central Kentucky Race Management. The race will take place on Saturday, Dec 8th, 2018 at Bernheim Forest. Participants will run through Bernheim Forest with the Half Marathon having sections on the millennium trail. The 5K and 10K will start at 9 am with the Half Marathon starting at 8:00 am.
PARKING: Parking will be at Bernheim Forest

All participants will receive a custom beanie as well as a finisher medal.
Santa's Workshop
The mission of Santa’s Workshop is:
to provide toys for military families who are financially challenged during the holiday season. With a little assistance from workshop elves, soldiers and spouses shop our inventory to find the best toys for their children. Each child receives two brand new toys, a book, and stocking stuffers. Each family receives a board game which they can enjoy together.
Santa’s Workshop serves Fort Knox military families with children ages 2 years to 13 years of age who are currently living with the soldier and under the soldier’s DEER enrollment. Parents begin shopping at Santa’s Workshop around the first two weeks of December. Volunteers assist parents in selecting toys for their children. Volunteers are needed year-round to help shop for toys, re-stock and organize the workshop.

Both Helping Hands and Santa’s Workshop are located at Building 119 on Binter Street (behind Fort Knox Commissary and diagonal from the Class Six).
Donation Information:
Fort Knox assistance programs are available thanks to donations from generous groups and individuals.
Items that can be donated to Helping Hands include:
Clothing of All Sizes (adults, children, and infants)
Non-perishable Food
Household Items
Furniture
Toys
Seasonal Decorations
Items that can be donated to Santa’s Workshop include:
New toys (age groups 2 years -13 years old)
Board Games
New Books (age groups 2 years -13 years old)
If you or someone you know would like to make a donation to Helping Hands or Santa’s Workshop, please contact the American Red Cross Fort Knox office at (502) 624-2163. We accept cash, checks, credit cards, gift cards and the items listed above. Donation receipts are available upon request. You can mail or bring your donation to the Red Cross Fort Knox office, 1131 Fifth Avenue, P.O. Box 996, Fort Knox, KY 40121.
Packet Pickup
There will be three locations to pick up your packet:
1. Flex Appeal (Louisville) on Dec 7th from 4 pm to 7 pm
2. Flywheel Brewery (Elizabethtown) on Dec 7th from 4 pm to 7 pm
3. Race start line on Dec 8th from 7 am to 830 am
During registration, we will ask you where you want to pick up and we will have your packet ready at the desired location
