Join us on the historic Fort Knox Military Reservation for the 15th annual Run for the Red, supporting the Fort Knox American Red Cross chapter. Enjoy a 5K (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles) run or walk across the beautiful, rolling hills of this famous military installation. After the race, stick around and enjoy our post-race party with music, food, bourbon and wine samples, and vendors with demonstrations and giveaways. (Must be 21+ and show ID for alcohol)
Race participants will receive a short-sleeve race shirt*, and all finishers will receive a unique 15th anniversary finisher medal. Proceeds from the race support the Fort Knox American Red Cross and their programs and services for the service members, veterans, and their families on Fort Knox and the surrounding region.

All race participants that register before April 24th will receive a short-sleeve race shirt with their paid registration*. After this date, shirts and sizes are not guaranteed.

You must have a valid DoD ID or visitor pass to enter Fort Knox. See the Special Information section below for more information.
Chaffee Gate (Bullion Blvd) will be the only Fort Knox gate open on race day. All other gates will be closed.
Event signs will be posted on Fort Knox directing you to event parking.
Take 31W North to the Bullion Blvd Exit, pass the Fort Knox Gold Vault and proceed through Chaffee Gate onto Fort Knox. Turn right at the first light onto Spearhead Division Rd. Turn right at the first street past the train overpass onto Knox St., then follow the curve onto Maxwell St. Go straight at the 4-way stop, and event parking will be located on your right, with overflow parking located at the Commissary and Class Six parking lots.
Take 31W South to the Bullion Blvd Exit, turn right at the stop onto Bullion Blvd, then follow the same direction as above.

You must present a valid federal or state-issued ID to pick up your packet. You may pick up other participants packets with a copy of their ID or race registration confirmation.
Fort Knox Access Information
This event is located on Fort Knox, a U.S. military installation. All persons accessing the installation are subject to all applicable federal and Army rules and regulations, and consent to a search of their person or property when entering or while on the installation. Due to enhanced security measures, all visitors must possess a valid Department of Defense (DoD) Identification Card or visitor pass issued by the Fort Knox Visitor Center in order to access the installation. All persons without a valid DoD ID card or visitor pass may acquire a visitor pass using one of the methods below:
1) Online: Visit https://visit.gvt.us/steps/branch_selection and follow the on-screen instructions. (Note: This pass will only be valid for five (5) days from date of issue.)
2) In-Person: Visit the Fort Knox Visitor Center located at Chaffee Gate (Bullion Blvd), and present a valid federal or state-issued ID.
Fort Knox security personnel reserve the right to refuse or revoke access to the installation to anyone at any time for any reason, and NO REFUNDS will be provided to any race participant whose access is denied or revoked. In accordance with federal and Army rules and regulations, the carrying of concealed firearms on Fort Knox is prohibited and state-issued concealed weapons permits are not recognized or honored. All firearms must be declared at the access control point when entering the installation, and firearms not registered with the Fort Knox Weapons Registration Office are NOT permitted to be brought onto the installation. Open Road Notice
This is an open-course road race, and participants will share the course with vehicles and non-participants throughout the event. Road/crossing guards will be located along the course to assist, but participants should be observant of their surroundings at all times and ensure they are aware of any vehicles, people, animals, or obstacles that may cause injury.
Audio Device & Camera Policy
Participants may use headphones or other personal audio devices while on the course, but we ask that you keep the volume at a reasonable level for your own safety and out of courtesy for fellow participants. Both you and they should be able to hear other participants, volunteers, vehicles, or any other sounds in proximity to you at all times.
Photographic and video recording devices may be used on the course, but participants should be observant of their surroundings at all times and ensure they are aware of any vehicles, people, animals, or obstacles that may cause injury. Please be courteous of others, and do not use these devices in a manner that interferes with them enjoying or finishing the race or with race personnel performing their duties.
Animal Participation Policy
This race is a canine-friendly event, and participants may run or walk with their dogs. For the safety of both people and animals, all dogs must be leashed and owners must maintain control at all times during the event. Owners assume full responsibility for the care and behavior of their pet during the event, and may be disqualified from the race if their pet behaves in an unsafe or dangerous manner, interferes with other participants ability to complete the race, or they are otherwise unable to maintain control of it.
Inclement Weather Policy
The race will take place rain or shine. In the event of lightning or other severe inclement weather, the race may be delayed or cancelled. NO REFUNDS will be provided if the event is cancelled.
Participants must be 21 years or older and present a valid federal or state-issued ID to participate in any alcohol tasting or giveaway event. Participants are limited to one (1) free beer per person, and one round of bourbon/wine samples, while supplies last. Please drink responsibly at all times.
Event Rules and Disqualifications
All participants must maintain their race bibs on their front, outermost garment throughout the race until the awards ceremony finishes. All participants must follow the marked race course and instructions from race personnel at all times during the event. Anyone who deviates from the course for any reason, receives assistance that would give them an unfair advantage over other racers, fails to follow instructions from race personnel, or fails to follow race guidelines will be disqualified from the race. NO REFUNDS will be provided to any disqualified participant.
