Come run the "Greatest Half in History!"
Join us for the 9th Annual KY History Half, 10K and 5K on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 7:30am in downtown Frankfort. The KY History Half is the Commonwealth's first half marathon that celebrates Kentucky's history. The KY History Half is a RaceRise & 3 Sport Endurance production benefiting the Kentucky Historical Society Foundation.

Our PACKET PICKUP is Friday, September 19, 2025 from 3-7pm at the Kentucky Historical Society (Address: 100 W Broadway St, Frankfort, KY 40601). For out-of-town participants who notify us in advance, we also have packet pickup on race morning from 6:30-7:45 a.m. at the KHS (Brown Forman Room). All local runners will be expected to pick up their packets on Friday or have it picked up by a friend.
Partial proceeds go to the Kentucky Historical Society Foundation to support the educational programming and services of the Kentucky Historical Society.

Half Marathon Route
We are finalizing our 2025 routes for the 13.1, 10K and 5K but we know they will be similar to the routes of the past. Our start/finish this year will be from Broadway Avenue (A few blocks away from previous years) in front of the Old State Capital Building.
There will be 6 hydration stations along the 13.1 mile route which half marathon runners will pass by a total of 12 times. We will serve water and SWORD hydration at these stops in small 5 oz. cups.

All finishers of our 3 races (13.1, 10K and 5K) will earn a custom finisher's medal. Shown below is the 2023 finisher's medal.

2024 Commemorative Race Shirts
Our 2024 race shirt is a Sportek long sleeved performance/tech shirt in men's and women's sizes. We will reveal our shirt color and design closer to the race in September. The photo shown is of the 2023 race shirt.
