WHY WE RACE?

SCHS/GCHS DanceBlue is an organization of students who raise funds year-round for the University of Kentucky’s Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit. These students work together to host individual fundraisers that go towards their annual donation total for the University of Kentucky’s DanceBlue grand total. In two years, the youth committee has raised a total of $29,812.61, and plans to reach this year’s goal of $25,000.   All donated funds to this organization support groundbreaking pediatric oncology research, enhance the patient experience, and support Clinic Operations. By doing so, DanceBlue is able to spread joy to those fighting, to persevere in memory of the lives lost, and to celebrate every victory until the battle against pediatric cancer is won.  To learn more on the wonders of the program, hear incredible stories, or become part of the team, visit www.danceblue.org

DanceBlue 5K ---- A Race For The Kids!

Our 2nd Annual race will benefit DanceBlue.  This includes partial proceeds from the race and 100% of donations.

DanceBlue is a University of Kentucky student-run organization that fundraises year-round and culminates in a 24-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon. The money raised through DanceBlue is donated to the Golden Matrix Fund, established to support the kids of the DanceBlue Kentucky Children’s Hospital Hematology/Oncology Clinic both today and well into the future through an endowment. DanceBlue funds also support the year-long fundraising engine and operations that underpin the mission, as well as providing funds to support research at the UK Markey Cancer Center. The Golden Matrix Fund was created to benefit the DanceBlue KCH Hematology/Oncology Clinic patients and families. Childhood cancer not only affects the child physically, but it also creates many emotional and financial difficulties for the entire family. The goal of the Golden Matrix Fund is to provide care and support for the kids through giving them and their parent’s comfort. www.danceblue.org
