USAT Queenslake Open Water Swim
Place
Georgetown, KY US 40324
Description
GENERAL INFORMATION
This is a "choose your own distance" open water swim ONLY for USMS and USAT athletes. It is a sanctioned USAT clinic and USMS-supervised practice swim. Held at the beautiful Queenslake horse farm in Scott County, this 15-acre spring-fed lake is a perfect open water venue.
The swim will be on a 750-meter course. Athletes may complete any number of laps of the course, though 4-laps (3-km) is the premier distance. Results will be compiled and posted for swims of each distance
It will be an in-water mass start with slap-finish on an in-water finish gate typical of international open water events. The swim will be chip-timed with chips affixed to the wrists. Athletes will pass under the timing gate at the completion of each lap, allowing us to collect lap-splits for each lap completed.
This swim follows a USA Swimming youth event earlier in the day, which is expected to wrap up shortly before 6:00p. The USMS/USAT swim will start as soon as possible following that. Due to a 7:45p sunset, no new lap may begin after 7:25p.

IMPORTANT NOTES
1. All swimmers must be current members of USA Triathlon or US Masters Swimming. Anyone who registers but is not a valid member will have their money refunded and refused entry to the race. Memberships in these organizations provides insurance coverage for all participants, the host, and the venue.
2. The USMS swim is $20 more expensive because USMS forces a $20 discount at checkout. Such a high discount would kill the fundraising capabilities for the Swimchester Sailfish, the host team. So, yeah, the USMS swim looks like it's $65, but it's actually $45 at the end.
