Join us and challenge yourself to run/walk/hike 13.1, 26.2, or 30+ miles over a 43 day period to help fight hunger and beat the coronavirus.

While we can't run together, RUNNING & STAYING HEALTHY IS NOT CANCELLED.  Join us as we raise funds to support Fayette Eating, Education & Delivery (FEED) as they work to feed hungry children in Central Kentucky.  We will also be making a donation to the #TeamKentucky Fund established by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear to assist those most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our challenge starts on Mother's Day (Sunday, May 10th) and ends on Independence Day (July 4th).  This 43-day period provides you with an opportunity to challenge yourself to whatever degree you wish.  You can run/walk/hike or treadmill your mileage all in one run/walk or by accumulating mileage in segments.

OUR 3 DISTANCES:

  • The Healthy Half Marathon --- 13.1 Miles
  • The Magnificent Marathon --- 26.2 Miles
  • The Ultimate Ultramarathon --- Runner's choice 30-100 Miles  (Those who complete 100 miles (2.32 miles/day for 43 days) earn the Century Club designation.) **** Those who sign up for the Ultra will set a mileage goal  (i.e. 30, 40, 50, 75, 100 miles) but only need to run/walk/hike 30 miles to be considered complete. ****

LOCAL PACKET PICKUP   We plan to hold a local, safe, drive-through packet pickup in Lexington (date and location TBA).

MAILING OF PACKETS   Those not picking up locally will have their packets mailed to them.  Our goal is to have packet to all participants by Father's Day (Sunday, June 21st), but this is dependent on our getting our medals in a timely fashion.

FACEBOOK SHARING   We encourage you to post a photo and/or workout data on our FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE when you finish your race.  This will allow us to celebrate your accomplishment virtually.  Feel free to share where you live and anything special related to your running journey.

FORM A SOCIAL TEAM   Expand your race fun by starting or joining an existing social team.  Teams can be formed by families, churches, clubs, businesses, and interest groups.  Just create a race name and invite your friends & family to join you.  We'll have a prize for the largest team and most creative/clever team name.

RACE SWAG   All participants will receive a comfy poly/cotton commemorative shirt (Men's, women's, and youth sizes), distinctive finisher's medal, and digital race bib.

Fayette Eating, Education & Delivery (FEED) --- Our Race Charity Beneficary

Partial race proceeds and 100% of donations made by participants will support Fayette Eating, Education & Delivery (FEED).

FEED is working to help students in Fayette County by providing weekend meals and snacks to students in need.

A Distinct Identity
Since January 2017, FEED has been working in partnership with God’s Pantry to provide weekend meals to students in need in Fayette County. FEED is currently fulfilling a portion of weekend food needs at Garden Springs Elementary, Rosa Parks Elementary, Garrett Morgan Elementary, James Lane Allen Elementary, Beaumont Middle School, Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, and Lafayette High School.

We operate in partnership with local churches, Family Resource Coordinators, and volunteers to ensure that weekend food needs are fulfilled at each of our partner schools. Our long-term goal is to create a community of school personnel, parents, non-profit organizations, and advocates to ensure that no student in Fayette County goes hungry when school is not in session.

Race Swag

All participants receive a super soft (mens/womens/youth sized) poly cotton shirt, finisher's medal and personalized digital race bib.

The medal is inscribed on the back with the quote "There is no path to happiness.  Happiness is the path."     Buddha

Celebrating Your Accomplishment Virtually --- Post Your Finish Photo or Workout Data on our Facebook Event Page

We want to help celebrate your 13.1, 26.2 or 30+ mile finish virtually.  When you complete your "race" or last leg/segment we encourage you to post a photo, workout data or collage of photos on our FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE   Feel free to share where you are from and anything else important about your "running journey".  If you aren't active on Facebook that is fine, you can email Bob@RaceRise.com with your photo, data or a note validating your finish.  As a general rule we are operating with an honor system on your finish so you aren't required to submit in order to receive your packet (shirt, finisher's medal and digital bib).

Your Downloadable/Printable Digital Race Bib

You can access and print, download and share your digital race bib.  We offer a digital bib for purposes of flexibility and to minimize our carbon footprint.

Log into your RunSignUp.com account.  Click on "My Profile" and then "Events".  If you have registered for our race you will see it listed.  Look in the lower right hand corner for a link to "View Pre-Race Bib".  From there you can download, print or share your bib on social media.  The bib will be personalized with your name as it is listed in your RunSignUp account.

Now get out and run!

The Team Kentucky Fund --- A Secondary Race Beneficiary

In addition to the support we'll provide God's Pantry Food Bank, we will also be making a donation on behalf of the race to the Team Kentucky Fund.  This fund was established by Governor Andy Beshear and will provide assistance to Kentuckians who have been severely financially impacted by the COVID-19 emergency.

RunHappy4Hunger Mileage Log

We've created this Mileage Log for the 43 days of the challenge to make it easy for you to log your mileage.  Some of you may use an app and that is fine also.  Whatever works for you is fine.  We trust our runners and employ the honor system on completing your mileage.
