Established in 2018, Lexington Equine Medical Group (LEMG) is an ambulatory veterinary practice built on the experience and expertise of 13 full-time veterinarians, who have nearly 125 years of experience among them. LEMG practitioners and staff work collaboratively with horse owners and trainers to provide the highest level of veterinary care to diverse clientele.

The LEMG team specializes in internal medicine, reproduction and foal care, wellness and preventative care, sport horse medicine, sales services, and equine import and export. With full digital radiography and ultrasound capabilities, LEMG practitioners care for a variety of horses in the Bluegrass, including mares and foals, Thoroughbred and Standardbred racehorses, polo ponies, sport horses in a variety of disciplines, gaited horses, pleasure horses, retirees and more. 

Our race supports the work and mission of the Kentucky Horse Council which is headquartered at the Kentucky Horse Park.   Proceeds will be specifically earmarked for KHC work in Eastern Kentucky.

The Kentucky Horse Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection and development of the Kentucky equine community through education and leadership. The KHC provides educational programs like large animal emergency rescue training and livestock investigation training; networking opportunities through the Dinner & Discussion series; personal liability insurance through individual and family memberships; and financial assistance programs for horse owners in need through the Save Our Horses (SOHO) fund. Celebrating our relationship with the horse since 1978, the Kentucky Horse Park welcomes over one million visitors each year. Owned and operated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the Park is a treasure to our state and a facility unlike any other in the world.

We will have prizes for our Top 3 M/F Overall and Top 3 M/F in various age group categories.  Our Top Male & Female Finishers (Champions) will earn a custom belt buckle (see photo below) for their achievement.  Ribbons will be presented for the other awards.
