John's Run/Walk Shop presents the first installment in the Speakeasy Series: drink free beer and talk running with us!
This month we will have the pleasure to welcome Dave Long out of Louisville, Kentucky. Dave has 45+ years of running experience and 30+ years of coaching experience. Dave ran professionally in the 80's, is the former British Record Holder in the Half Marathon (1:02:19, 1981), and boasts a personal best Marathon of 2:12:17 (1982). He currently serves as a volunteer assistant coach for Bellarmine University and coaches 6-8 additional individuals, including recent Olympic Marathon Trials Qualifier Zack Beavin (2:18:26). Dave will be talking about running in the 70's and 80's and how the sport has evolved since then. We will likely move into an open forum style discussion as we go.
