Our Kentucky neighbors in Eastern Kentucky have been hit hard by devastating and deadly flooding. Life may never be the same for many of these folks.
We are doing our part as a running community to help meet the need through a virtual run/walk that anyone anywhere in the United States & Canada can participate in. 100% of the funds from this virtual run/walk will benefit those in need. We have selected the Perry County School District as our beneficiary. They were hit particularly hard with flooded schools, damaged buses and a need for supplies to attempt to start the 2022-23 school year (See photos below).
We are asking those who participate to run, walk or hike at least a 5K (3.1 miles) to show your support. If you want to run/walk more that is fine.
Registration will be open from August 1st - September 10th. We'll have several packet/shirt pickup opportunities in Lexington, Kentucky in mid September (Date/Time/Location TBA) or you can elect to have our packet/shirt mailed to you for $5.00.
* If you want to run/walk more than 3.1 miles go for it! If you want to turn this into a personal fitness challenge for the next month by all means be our guest.
DON'T GO IT ALONE! FORM AN IMPACT TEAM! We have an opportunity to do more when we do it in groups or teams. Form a team and invite your friends, family, coworkers and running mates to join you. The more who participate, the greater impact we'll make.
NOTE ABOUT IMPACT TEAM PACKETS ---- If you start a team and live within a reasonable distance to Lexington to have one person pickup for the whole team, we can coordinate pulling the packets/shirts for your whole team together. This will save on individual postage for each team member.

The pictures from Eastern Kentucky are devastating. Many from across Kentucky and the United States are chipping in to do their part. We've focused our efforts on the Perry County School District after reading of the flooding of a number of their schools, damaged school buses and a 2022-23 school year that is supposed to start in less than 2 weeks. We thank you for your support as we work to make an impact on this niche of the region that was hit so hard by the flooding. (Photos below of Buckhorn Elementary School in Perry County)
