Join us for our 3rd annual race event - a celebration of freedom, community, and unity!
This year’s Roots & Heritage 3K is more than a race—it is a space for our community to come together, heal, wrap our arms around our youth, and reclaim our streets in peace and solidarity.
In light of recent events in the East End, we are dedicating this year’s starting line at The Historic Lyric Theatre to peace, youth protection, and honoring our young people. Whether you run for a personal best, walk with your family, or stand with us in solidarity, your presence matters.
Every stride supports local Black student-athlete scholarships and youth program support, proving that when our community stands together, hope lives.

Come as a registered runner or walk in solidarity for a morning of unity and purpose through Lexington's historic east end. Walk in honor of a person or write a custom message of hope on our commemorative race bibs.

- Flat/fast paved course in Lexington's East End

- All levels and abilities of runners, walkers and strollers are welcomed
- Pets on leashes only are permitted
- Support of the Lexington African-American Sports Hall of Fame in conjunction with the Lexington Roots & Heritage Festival day events

Race Route
Parking Info
Any side streets are fair game but no parking lots (at risk of being towed). It may be easier to come from Corral / Short / Second Street instead of Martin Luther King Blvd and Fifth streets.
Parking at the MET, Charles Young Center or Charles Young Park is open and only a 3 block walk to the start line.
