This year, the Hundred Acre 5k is going VIRTUAL!
At this point in the year, this probably comes as no surprise. We know you’ve seen countless races and events get cancelled, or go virtual. All of us at John’s Bluegrass Racing have been humbled by the continued support from all of our racers, volunteers, partners, and the Central Kentucky running community. We are looking forward to the day we can all race together again, but until then, we’re going to continue doing everything in our power to put on fun, meaningful events, that give you the opportunity to run or walk for awesome community causes.
We are thrilled to still offer a way for our racers to support the Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky virtually! You’ll still get your shirt and race swag, but now YOU get to pick your starting line, finish line, course, and start time on June 20th. You registration will be automatically transferred to the virtual option before race day.
Packet Pickup times will be announced very soon. Keep an eye on our race page for more information!
We can’t wait to see where race day takes you!
-The John’s Bluegrass Racing Team
Join us this June for the third annual Hundred Acre 5k to be held at the beautiful Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky in the heart of Lexington! John’s Run/Walk Shop and the Arboretum have teamed up to bring you a race that lets you experience your favorite place to run or walk in a whole new way! Bring your little ones and stick around after the race for the children’s fun-run (ages 2-10). Both the 5k and the Children's Mile will be run on a safe course closed to traffic through the beautiful Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky. All 5k participants will receive a Hundred Acre 5k race T-shirt and Arboretum-themed finisher award. All children participating in the fun run will receive a free day admission to the Kentucky’s Children Garden and a ribbon.
For 2020, proceeds from the race will help fund the Arboretum's Horticultural Gardens! The gardens at The Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky provide visitors with year-round color and change throughout each season. In the gardens you will see a large and diverse community of plants from around the globe. The Arboretum partners with horticultural clubs and groups, University of Kentucky professionals, and plant breeders to bring the newest selections of annuals, perennials, roses, trees, and shrubs to the Horticultural Gardens. You will find many of these inter-planted with proven favorites that thrive here in the Bluegrass.
