Pride Stride Virtual Run/Walk

UPDATE: Registration for the Pride Stride is currently paused as we rework the event with a brand new partner into something bigger and better. Mid-September has normally been a time for celebration and inclusiveness in the Highlands with the Louisville Pride Foundation's pride festival. However, this year will be a different type of celebration. In addition to the Digital Pride Lace shows and festivities, sign up to support LPF by participating in the Pride Stride Virtual Run/Walk. Lace up the sneakers, grab your watch or smartphone GPS set, and join us on Sept. 19-20 to run or walk one mile, a 5K, or a 10K in the Pride Stride!

How does a Virtual 5K work, you ask? Unlike a normal run/walk, a virtual one allows you to run (or walk) one mile, a 5K (3.1 miles), or a 10K (6.2 miles) in any location. You are able to participate on your own (following social distancing guidelines) at your own speed, starting whenever is convenient for you. Follow the following steps:

1. Register for the Pride Stride by choosing between one mile, 5K, and 10K.
2. Between Sept. 14 and Sept. 20, complete a walk or run of the distance which you chose. You can utilize a GPS watch or a smartphone to record your distance. Runner’s World has a great list of apps you can use (most of which are free) for GPS.
3. Share your virtual run/walk experience on social media using #PrideStride and tagging Louisville Running Company and Louisville Pride Foundation.
4. Once you’ve completed your one mile, 5K, or 10K, visit our race website to submit your results. Click here for a link showing exactly how to submit results.
5. All registrants in all three distances will receive an inclusive pride flag face mask and a drink koozie. During virtual race week, there will be various opportunities for you to pick up your event swag at a Louisville location (exact location still TBD). If you are not able to make it in person, you will have the opportunity to purchase shipping during the registration process.

The proceeds raised from the Pride Stride will benefit the Louisville Pride Foundation. The Louisville Pride Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that promotes Louisville as one community that celebrates diversity, fosters inclusion for all and embraces the LGBTQA community. The foundation seeks to promote this unity between LGBTQ and straight allies by engaging in a conversation with the broader community about what makes us one while celebrating what makes us different. Louisville Pride brings communities together through collaboration, empowerment, and celebration.
