Description
Attention all animal lovers! Runners, walkers, and 4-legged friends of all ages are invited to Madisonville City Park for our first annual Hopkins County Humane Society RUN FOR THE PAWS 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run.
As a non-profit organization, The Hopkins County Humane Society relies on the generosity of our community and their donations throughout the year to continue our mission of helping animals in need.
Mark your calendars for June 8th and join us for a fun-filled day of running, walking, and wagging tails! All proceeds from the event will go directly to supporting the Hopkins County Humane Society and the animals in our care.
The event will take place at the Madisonville City Park on Saturday, June 8th. The Kids Fun Run will start at 8:00am and the 5k Run/Walk will start at 8:15am.
This is a fun occasion for the whole family - strollers and four-legged family members are welcome, we ask that you start behind the runners, and please, clean up after your dog!
PLEASE NOTE, IN ORDER TO BE GUARANTEED A RACE T-SHIRT YOU MUST REGISTER BEFORE MAY 18TH.
Parking is available in all designated parking areas.
Participants are encouraged to bring donations of dry and soft, dog, puppy and cat food, blankets and cleaning supplies (bleach, dish soap, cleaning cloths, disinfecting wipes, etc.)

Course Map
The race will start at the playground area.
All loops are run counter-clockwise. We will have directional signs, flags and volunteers to help you stay on course!
We will have volunteers at all road crossings, but please use common sense and caution!
The kids fun run will be first, they will run a .25 mile loop around the field near the playground. Start/Finish is the same as the 5k. There will be a "rabbit" for them to follow!
5k will start at the playground area, making one loop around the field, then turning left over the bridge again and on to the trail around the lake. You will cross over Park Lane, turning left up the hill. Follow the trail towards the baseball stadium, then you will cross Park Lane again, following the trail to the right and crossing the bridge for your second big loop, when you get back to the field and start/finish area, you will run one more small loop around 3 sides of the field, bringing you to the finish line.
The gravel trail is easy to follow (we promise!) and there will be people on course to help you with directions.

Take I-69 N. Follow I-69 N to KY-70 W/E Center Street. Take exit 114 from I-69 N. Turn left onto East Center Street. Turn left on to Park Ave, then turn left in to the park.
From the North,
Take US-41 S to Pennyrile Parkway. Follow I-69 to KY-70 W/ E Center Street. Take exit 114 from I-69. Turn right on to East Center Street. Turn left on to Park Ave, then turn left in to the park.
