Renfro Rock 'N Run Half Marathon / 5K

Get ready for the 12th Annual Renfro Rock 'N Run Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk! The Renfro Rock N Run Half Marathon has a tradition of being one of Kentucky’s most unique and fun races.

Renfro Valley, Kentucky, home of the world-famous entertainment center and the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, is known for its music, from Bluegrass to classic country to rock. Rockcastle County is home to a rock-solid, enthusiastic bunch who has taken to running and dare you to keep up. At the Rock N Run, they share the road, and their countryside, with you.

You’ll dash past rustic cabins, trot alongside a beautiful lake, and pass through some of Kentucky’s prettiest farmscapes. 

Part of the Rockcastle Regional Countywide Stride run/walk series, and winner of the Jackson Healthcare Hospital Charitable Services Program of Excellence Award.

HALF MARATHON

• Saturday, October 26, 2024. Race time is 8:00 a.m. EST.
• Time limit: 3.5 hours

• $65 thru Sunday, June 30 
• $75 thru Monday, September 30 (Shirt size not guaranteed after Sept. 30)
• $85 from October 1 thru race day 
• Race morning registration available by QR code only.
• Participant swag: Long sleeve T-shirt and commemorative medal for half marathoners.  (Shirt size not guaranteed after Sept. 30).
• Registration fees are not refundable.
• You may transfer your registration to another runner for a $10 fee if you do so by October 23 at 4 pm. To transfer, call Chelsea Dillingham at 606-256-7767.
• Packet pick-up is Friday, October 25, 8:00 a.m. – 3 p.m. EST, at Rockcastle Regional Hospital, 185 Newcomb Ave, Mt. Vernon, KY 40456 or until 7:45 a.m. on race day.

Awards:

• $100 and trophies to overall male and female winner
• Top three male and female runners in each of the following age groups: 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79, 80+
• Top three male and female walkers
• Awards will be presented at 10:30 a.m. near the finish area

5K RUN/WALK

• Saturday, October 26, 2024. Race time is 8:05 a.m. EST. (5K participants will line up behind the half marathoners, who will start at 8:00.)
• Race morning registration available by QR code only.
• $25 thru Monday, September 30  (Shirt size not guaranteed after Sept. 30).
• $30 October 1 thru race day.
• Participants swag: Short-sleeve T-shirt.  (Shirt size not guaranteed after Sept. 30).
• Registration fees are not refundable.
• No registration transfers for the 5K.
• Packet pick-up is Friday, October 25, 8:00 a.m. – 3 p.m. EST, at Rockcastle Regional Hospital, 185 Newcomb Ave, Mt. Vernon, KY 40456 or until 7:45 a.m. on race day.
• KIDS CLUB 12 & Under: Two registration options are available. Option 1: Free registration (no shirt, awards, or chip timing). Option 2: Paid discounted registration (includes shirt, age group awards eligibility, and chip timing).

COSTUME CONTEST

Our Music Costume Contest is always a favorite. The contest is open to Half Marathoners as well as 5K’ers. We’re looking for musical-themed costumes only. Be creative. Musical notes, Elvis jumpsuits, Johnny Cash black, etc. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Contestants must check-in at the registration tent and have their picture taken. On race day we will post the pictures on our Facebook page. The one with the most “likes” by Oct. 31 at noon will win $100.

(All costume participants must wear their costume for the duration of the race and race bib must be visible for time tracking.)
