Description
Join us for the inaugural Game Set Dash 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 16th at 8:00am at the Bluegrass Racquet Club off Brannon Road.
Our race will feature commemorative race shirts (While they last), overall and age group awards, chip timing (Thanks RaceRise!), food, fun and fellowship.
The race will benefit the Bluegrass Tennis Association (BTA) which is a non-profit Community Tennis Association under the umbrella of the United States Tennis Association. Our mission is to make the sport of tennis accessible to all in our community. We partner with other community groups to offer active programs for a healthy lifestyle. BTA spreads the joy and benefits of tennis through: In School PE, we go to the schools and provide equipment and instruction to kids during PE. Last year alone we had 5,000 kids playing tennis in PE.
- After school programs serving between 400 and 500 kids per school year at 15 local schools
- Weekend and evening programs and leagues serving 200 kids.
- Summer Programs for kids
- Wheelchair Tennis Programs
- Mentoring programs through National Junior Tennis and Learning developed through the Arthur Ashe Foundation and now the USTA Foundation
- Provide a healthy way to become active to youth in the community.
The race will allow BTA to expand our mentoring program, offer Wheelchair Tennis year round and provide more PE classes with equipment and curriculum.
