Beat Beethoven Cancelled Due to Health Concerns
It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of the Beat Beethoven 5K. As you may know, this event is a fundraiser for the Paducah Symphony Orchestra. At 14 days out, the decision was made to cancel the race in order to ensure the safety of our runners, and to avoid a financial loss. The City of Paducah has also encouraged the cancellation of public events such as this due to widespread concerns over COVID-19 (coronavirus). Discussions are underway to try to hold the race at a later date, however, we do not believe this will be in the near future, if at all. We sincerely apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience.
You have the option to request a refund through RunSignUp. You may also donate your registration fee to the PSO. We encourage you to consider this option. The PSO is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and had budgeted for funds to be raised through this event.
Thank you so much for your support of Beat Beethoven, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding. We wish you good health in this difficult period.
