WHY WE RACE?

The Chasing Hope 5K and 1-Mile Hope Stride is an event to raise awareness and help end the stigma and foster hope for suicide prevention and mental health in our communities.  This event helps raise critical funds for mental health to empower individuals through education, reducing barriers to care, and fostering a supportive environment.  100% of net proceeds from the event will support the Behavioral Health Department at Baptist Health Richmond.

WATER LANTERN MEMORIAL EVENT

There is that small water lake at White Hall Park.  Interested race participants will receive a water lantern when they arrive.  You can decorate your lanterns or write message to friends or loved ones you have lost, especially to those they have lost to suicide.  We will launch the water lanterns in the water before the race begins at 7:00.
