Description

THE RUGGED RED TRAIL HALF MARATHON IS ON so SAVE THE DATE AND START YOUR TRAINING! Runner's World Magazine named us one of the Top 25 Races in the USA and this year might just be the best ever !

Life is about changes and challenges and this race is going to do just that! Are you Ready??!!!

Part of the Red River Gorge Rugged Red is done on the Sheltowee Trace. If you know the Daniel Boone Story, you know that he was captured by Indians on part of this trail and when Chief Black Fish saw him with his big backpack full of salt , he called Daniel Boone, Sheltowee or Big Turtle. That's why you see the turtle symbol stamped on the trees when you are on this trail, and that's why the turtle is on the medal you earn when running through these beautiful and Rugged Red mountains. It has been confirmed we are doing this race. It has not been confirmed whether you will run the original Rugged Red Trail in the National Daniel Boone National Forest, on a new and challenging 13.1 miles of private trails with creeks, and mountains, and gorgeous arches or if in September the Safety Regulations will cause us to change it to Virtual and you will decide again when and where to safely run it. Nothing stops the Rugged Red Runner!  You've got just 60 days to get in shape, so get ready, sign up and be prepared to Conquer the Red. This year could just be your best race yet!
