All proceeds from the 2018 CrossFit Ignis Pump n Run 5k will go to the 2018 Marquette Challenge. The Challenge is an annual grassroots fundraising effort coordinated and carried out by physical therapist and physical therapist assistant students across the country to support new investigators in the field of physical therapy research. Physical Therapy is the front line of defense for helping to combat the opiod epidemic and research from the Marquette Challenge will help provide physicians with sound data for prescribing Physical Therapy over opiod prescriptions for pain management.  Get more information aboutThe Marquette Challenge and the opiod dilemma by following the following links:              
Weigh in starts at 8:00am. Lifting starts after weigh in. 5k will begin after lifting is completed. Athletes need to successfully lift at least one rep and run the 5k. A runner’s time will be based on how many times he/she can bench press their weight by formula. There will be 5 lifting/age divisions per gender (10 total divisions):

   AGE (minimum age 18)                     MEN (% of Body Weight)                      WOMEN (% of Body Weight)

  1. 18-29                                                         100%                                                            70%

  2. 30-39                                                         100%                                                            70%

  3. 40-49                                                          90%                                                             60%

  4. 50-59                                                          80%                                                             50%

  5. 60 and over                                              60%                                                             40%

An athlete’s run time will be reduced by 30 seconds for each lift (maximum 30 reps). This will allow a runner to reduce their run time by 15 minutes based on 30 reps (maximum reps allowed). Example:  If they bench press their weight 10 times ( - 5 minutes) will be taken off the 5k running time. Total time will be run time minus reps.  The bar must touch athlete’s chest and be fully extended on each rep or a “no rep” call will be given.  Athletes back and butt must stay in contact with the bench at all times. No bouncing the bar off chest.

Both feet must stay on the floor at all times (plates may be used for shorter athletes). Partial or incomplete reps will not be counted. Any stop of the bar stops the lift. Athletes must wear running shoes at weigh in. Awards will be given to top three Male & Female finishers in each age group. Age groups are: 18-29, 30- 39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+
$25.00 entry fee

Registration increases to $30.00 per person after March 23, 2018 (no t - shirt guarantee beyond this date).
