Event Details
Start Times: 6:00pm, all racers. Please gather at registration area at 5:45pm for race briefing and group walk to the start.
Cut off times: Full Monty racers must reach the Dome finish in 65 minutes to continue.
Timers will close finish chutes for all races 2 hours after the start. Run hard, don’t be late
Age Guidence: We recommend that racers younger than 10 years be accompanied by an adult. All junior racers must descend in groups with an adult. Please wait at the finish for a group to descend with. There be bears!
Parking: The Chugach Foothills neighborhood has been very gracious to us over the years. Please be respectful when parking, do your best to carpool, and consider parking at the Chugach Foothills park and carpooling or running to the start from there. **There is NO Parking on Klutina Dr for emergency response needs.**
After the Finish: All races finish at the top and you must make your way back to the bottom. Please do not continue on to the Knoya summit after the finish. Our permit is for the racecourse only and we are responsible for making sure you get home, we will wait for you if you stray, please don’t. You can help us keep track of you by crossing the start timing equipment when you arrive back to the base. We highly recommend that you carry water and a dry shirt or wind breaker for the return trip to the start. It can and does get very nasty on this ridge late in the evenings. Take care of yourself, it can be a long walk back down.
We will acknowledge the race winners and have food and refreshments after the race but there are no physical awards. Running in the hills is its own reward!
Timing System: To help us get out results in a timely manner please:
- Wear your bib pinned to your torso or right thigh where it will be clearly visible on the outer most layer of your clothing
- Move quickly through and past the finish line to keep the path clear for other finishers
- Cross the finish line only once. (Monty racers will pass through the finish at the Dome).
- Don’t bother the timers and listen to their instructions.
Notes on the Chugach State Park 100 person limit: The Full Monty passes through a section of CSP. They limit racers to 100. If we have more than 100 entrants in the Monty (not likely) we will be limiting the racers that are allowed to continue beyond the Dome finish. Listen at the start for an update on status.
Notes on the Alaska Mountain Runners Grand Prix Points:
- Overall Grand Prix points will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in the Full Monty.
- Age group points will be awarded to the top 5 in each age class as follows. Ages < 39 for finishes in the Full Monty. Masters classes 40 and over points awarded by finish at the Dome even if you are continuing on to the Monty finish in quest of overall points.
Special Thanks: To JBER and Chugach State Park for allowing us to host this race on their (our) lands, Skinny Raven for their help with timing, and of course to all our volunteers who make this happen.
