Superhero Race to the Rescue 5K- Disable the Label Event

FUNdraising event associated with the 4th Annual Disable the Label Community Event held on OCTOBER 20th 8am at Denham Springs Freshman High Campus and Gym. This 5K is 3.10 miles on a revised course that winds through the beautiful streets of Denham Springs surrounding the Denham Springs Freshman High just past the downtown antique district on Highway 16.  

Anyone registering for the 5K Superhero Race to the Rescue will have included admission to the Family Fun Fest Community Awareness Event.  T-shirts are included with the 5K registration for adults and kids if registered by 10/10/18 at 5 pm.  

For the Family Fun Fest, t-shirts are included ONLY for the ADULTS (19-100) if registered by 10/10/18 by 5 pm.  The kids (1-18) will have to purchase a t-shirt if they want one.  You can do this during registration.

The purpose of this event is to raise funds for the Scholarship program of the Launch Therapy Center, the only non-profit pediatric therapy center in Livingston Parish. Kids that attend Launch are there for Speech Language, Occupational, and Physical Therapies that work on Pediatric Developmental Delay and Disabilities. Some of the examples of these that exists with the patients seen are Autism Spectrum Disorder, Downs Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, Hearing or Vision Difficulties, Dyslexia, and Traumatic Brain Injury. Many families, even with Insurance plans, incur significant cost for vital therapies that are life- changing for children in our community. Events like this are designed to support the families experiencing these daily challenges, bring awareness to the statistics and ways to involve everyone in acceptance, and specifically this 5K Run is to raise funds to off set some of those medical costs by providing Scholarships to Launch's patients.

This year's theme is SUPERHEROES!! Come dressed in your best Super Gear and accents to show your support for this amazing cause.
