ERAD 5K - (Emergency Responder Appreciation Day)

ERAD is a community event hosted by Southwest Louisiana Mutual Aid Association. First Responders make the ultimate sacrifice when duty calls, no matter their life situation, they leave their families to respond not knowing when they will return. We witness this sacrifice yearly during law enforcement assaults and shootings, on-duty traffic accidents, fire suppression and rescue deaths, industrial responses, and our military service members being killed abroad.

On ERAD, we take the opportunity to honor our fallen, recognize outstanding responders of the year, and celebrate with our community! An opportunity to network, to interact with each other and to show the resources and skill sets available to the community.

Event Details:  

Start with our 5k run at 7:30am, the 1 Mile will start at 7:45am.  The opening ceremony begins at 9:30am post colors, key speakers, award responders, various hand-on opportunities, stop the bleed, fire safety house, extrication tools, law enforcement gear along with static displays for all to enjoy fire trucks, rescue boats high water vehicles, Law enforcement vehicles, helicopters, and a special rescue by the coast guard. Hot dogs, drinks and snacks provided to all participants starting at 10:30am.

Teams:  You can also create a team to run together for fun.  Gather up your family and friends to create some costumes and create a lot of fun together. 

Registration Fees:

5K or 1 Mile Fee:    Now till Sept. 8th - $30 online, starting on Sept. 9th - 10th late fee - $35

Team Registration Fee:   Create or Join a team and receive a $5 discount for your registration automatically at checkout.

T-shirt not guaranteed if registered after 8/29/2022

Packet Pickup (Location, Date & Time):

Early pick-up at 900 Lake Shore outside the exhibition hall on Sept. 9, 2022 from 18:00 (6pm) – 20:30 (8:30pm)

Registration on race morning Sept 10th starting at 06:30am by the amphitheater.

(1-14,15-19,20-29,30- 39,etc. 70+):

Awards:   

Top Overall M&F, & 1st, 2nd, 3rd, M&F in each age group for the 5K, best team costume (heroes / responders)
