The unprecedented precautions taken by our state to minimize the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic has required us to take a step back and seek alternatives to our race plans. As we follow the guidance of public health officials to safeguard all our supporters and volunteers, we are excited to inform you that we have decided to transition this year’s race into a VIRTUAL RACE.
During this time of social distancing, LAR's 4 on the Fourth is still hard at work, moving forward our mission. While we’re disappointed, that we can’t participate together, we can continue to support one another and move forward in these difficult times to try to bring some normalcy to our lives.
We will still hold our race, only now we’re going to hold the race in a new format. The Race is a rain or shine event each year and so we are asking you all to join us in this VIRTUAL RACE.
The virtual race format allows you to do this event wherever you want! A virtual race is a physical run you complete on your own. All registered participants have been transferred to the Virtual Run, free of charge. Thankfully, we are still allowed to exercise whenever we wish, as long as we’re obeying social distancing rules. Those rules include staying off closed paths, tracks and sports fields. For the time being, runners should consider doing their run in less populated areas like parking lots, roads or on the treadmill. This is also a fun way to get your family out of the house while you exercise social distancing.
