The Legacy: One University. One Legacy. Thousands of miles. As we gather in New Orleans this July, we invite the entire Hampton family—alumni, students, and supporters—to demonstrate the strength of our community. The Leading the Legacy Alumni Conference Virtual 5K is a premium event designed to unite every Pirate, whether you are running in your local neighborhood or joining fellow alumni for our live, in-person (informal) event in the heart of the Crescent City.
The Movement: This is more than a race; it is a global display of excellence and endurance. From the track novice to the seasoned marathoner, our professional-grade training programs are crafted to prepare you physically and mentally for race day. When Hamptonians move, we move together. Pick your route, commit to the training, and cross your own finish line this spring.
The Challenge: Build your squad and dominate the ‘Team Challenge’ leaderboard. Whether you represent your graduating class, a local alumni chapter, or a Greek organization, train together and race for the top spot. Don't just run—lead the way.
This is a virtual event with a community twist. While this is a virtual 5K, we have curated a 'Conference Route' for those attending the event who wish to run together.
Important: To ensure you receive your official race gear in time to pack for the conference, you must register no later than June 15th. Registrations received after this cutoff will still participate in the virtual 5K, but we cannot guarantee your gear will arrive before your departure.
Please note: This is an informal, self-supported group run. There will be no road closures, hydration stations, or official course marshals. We’ll meet at a designated location and time (TO BE ANNOUNCED) to tackle the route together, powered by our collective energy!
