Operation Santa Claus 5k

Operation Santa Claus, a 501(c)(3) organization is a joint effort between Shreveport Fire and Police Departments, along with Bossier Sheriff’s Office and Townsquare Media Radio Stations seeking to provide hundreds of LOCAL less fortunate children with Christmas presents. In order to help facilitate this endeavor we are hosting a 5K run to raise the much needed capital to continue our goal to give these children a reason to smile.

Date, Starting Time & Place: Saturday, September 10, 2016, the race will begin at 8 am on the campus of LSUS (1 University Place, Shreveport)

Registration: Early Registration is $20 through 7 am August 31st. Registration is $25 after early registration through race day. Kid’s (12 and under) registration is $15.

REGISTER EARLY! No shirts guaranteed to late registrants.

T-shirts & Race Packet Pick-Up: Every pre-registered participant will receive an original “Operation Santa Claus 5K Run” t-shirt. Packet pick up will be held at Sportspectrum Thursday, September 8th & Friday, September 9th from 10 am-5:30 pm. You may also pick up your packet on Race Day at the Race Site at 7 am.

Awards: Overall male & female finishers: 1st receives $200, 2nd receives $150, and 3rd receives $100. Additionally, overall age top group finishers will receive an award. The overall finisher of the Kid’s Run will receive $50. All other child runners will receive a metal for participation.

Age Groups: (13-18), (19-39), (40-49), (50-59), (60+)

Post Party: Please join us after the race for awards, door prizes, children activities, food vendors and more for your enjoyment!

Special Note: Strollers, wagons, baby joggers, and any hand pushed or pulled vehicle will be allowed on the course, but at a walk pace capacity only. Absolutely NO in-line skates, roller skates or runners with baby strollers will be allowed on run course. This rule is an RRCA regulation!
